WorkStart 6 week workshops for people with learning disabilites who are unemployed

Starting​ ​in ​March​ ​2018​ ​

WorkStart​ ​is​ ​a​ ​course​ ​of​ ​6​ ​workshops​ ​for​

people​ ​with learning​ ​disabilities​ ​in​ ​

Wolverhampton​ ​and​ ​Dudley​ ​who​ ​don’t​ ​have​ ​a​ ​job.​ ​

Each​ ​course​ ​is designed​ ​to:

  • introduce​ ​people​ ​to​ ​the​ ​idea​ ​that​ ​they​ ​might​ ​be​ ​able​ ​to​ ​work
  • build​ ​self-confidence​ ​and​ ​motivation
  • improve​ ​people’s​ ​ability​ ​to​ ​engage​ ​with​ ​work​ ​and​ ​try​ ​new​ ​things
  • increase​ ​choices​ ​and​ ​prepare​ ​for​ ​taking​ ​the​ ​next​ ​step​ ​with​ ​support

Mental Illness voluntary support group for carers

Rethink Mental Illness is launching a new voluntary support group in Dudley, open to carers and to everyone with personal experience of mental ill-health. The aims of the group are to:

  • Provide a safe, relaxing space to meet
  • Promote wellbeing and recovery
  • Lobby to improve local mental health services
